UMS Meter Machine Operators report directly to their Department Lead or Production Supervisor.UMS Location: Wausau UMSMeter Machine Operators are responsible for but not limited to the following outline of responsibilities.UMS Meter Machine Operator responsibilities and duties: Ability to acknowledge all UMS policies and become familiar with them. Including but not limited to: Attendance/Punctuality policies Equal Opportunity Employment Harassment policies Drug and Alcohol policy Safety and Security policies Ability to follow lead and Supervisor's directions to accomplish the ultimate goal of each work day. This goal is to service our customers accurately and efficiently by getting the mail processed and to the USPS in a timely manner
Requires versatility in more than one area or department within the facility Understanding the functionality of the metering equipment Accurately input client information into the meter Accurately set up machine for correct processing per client Efficiently load onto and unload mail off of equipment Monitor mail as it passes through the machine for quality Ability to identify poor quality issues Package mail and label trays for automation processing Monitor meter functions and reports problems to the Lead or Supervisor as necessary Ability to work independently and adapt if normal routine of production is disrupted Job Qualifications for UMS Meter Machine Operator: Ability to lift 5 - 25 lb containers repetitively Ability to work standing for entire shift Ability to remove mail from processing equipment place in containers and package containers Physically twisting and turning of upper body Grasping handfuls of mail Using fine motor skills to handle mail envelopes Ability to understand software and general functionality of mail metering equipment after training Ability to multitask
