Job description

As a Sales Development Associate (Entry Level Training Program), you will begin your career by learning our business from the inside out. Before representing our company in the field, you will complete structured cross-functional training in Customer Service, production, quality, safety, and shipping operations.

This program is designed to build technical knowledge, operational understanding, and customer insight that will prepare you for a future Account Manager or Sales Representative role within our corrugated packaging business.

Pay Range: $45,000-$60,000/year, depending on experience. This is a salaried, non-exempt position during the training program and is eligible for overtime pay.

What You'll Do

  • Complete structured training in Customer Service, including order entry, quoting support, and customer communication.
  • Develop product knowledge including box styles, board grades, testing requirements, and manufacturing processes.
  • Train alongside production teams to understand quality standards, waste reduction, and safety expectations.
  • Gain exposure to shipping coordination and inventory management to understand how orders move from plant to customer.
  • Participate in problem-solving discussions related to service, quality, and scheduling.
  • Learn internal quoting systems, ERP tools, and reporting processes.
  • Transition into sales shadowing and account support activities after foundational milestones are achieved.
  • Work toward defined development benchmarks that prepare you for an outside sales role.

Who You Are

  • You are motivated to build a long-term career in sales and understand that strong sales professionals must first master the product and the process.
  • You are analytical, organized, and comfortable learning in both office and manufacturing environments. You communicate clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and take initiative.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related fields preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing or corrugated experience is a plus but not required.

What to Expect on the Job

  • This is a structured development role that combines office-based work with hands-on exposure in our manufacturing environment. During your training rotations, you will spend time in Customer Service and on the production floor to gain a practical understanding of how our products are made and delivered.
  • You should be comfortable working in an active plant setting, interacting with production teams, and learning in a fast-paced environment.
  • This is a full-time position with a clear development path toward a future outside sales role based on performance and successful completion of training milestones.
  • Future sales roles offer a commission-based compensation structure with uncapped earning potential.

What We Offer

  • We are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program designed to support the personal and professional needs of you and your family. Among the benefits available to eligible team members are:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Paid childbearing and parental leave
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Healthy lifestyle programs
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Pratt University Classes/Resources
  • Box 101 & Onsite Training
