Job description

Project QC Technician

Southwest Concrete Paving is an established concrete paving company specializing in military airfield construction across the western United States. At Southwest we believe that quality and safety come first and have spent considerable resources to assure those components are emphasized on every project. We believe that teamwork and communication is the way to achieve these goals, and we seek like-minded individuals who want to become part of a successful team.

The Project QC Technician is responsible for conducting testing and inspection on various project sites and reporting results to their immediate supervisor. This position does not require previous experience although previous experience is preferred. This is an entry level position with opportunities for advancement. This position is located at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, OK.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Obtain test samples of various materials as directed
  • Perform physical testing on materials per applicable ASTM, COE, or other standards as directed
  • Operate small equipment to obtain test samples and generate test data
  • Record and communicate test results which have been gathered
  • Maintain equipment
  • Assists other technicians with material testing as needed
  • Inform QC Manager of QC equipment malfunctions or low levels of supplies
  • Plan and prepare for upcoming work
  • Report to Project Quality Control Supervisor
  • Other Duties as Assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends
  • Must be able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery; bend, walk, stand and sit for extended time; and use hand tools
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing 50 lb. or more on a regular basis
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year airfield construction experience preferred

In addition to a competitive salary, Davis Bacon Rates apply on participating projects.
