General Functions:

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a proactive and outgoing personality to join our team as a Full time Classroom Support Specialist. This role is ideal for someone who is responsible, enjoys social interactions, and is passionate about building positive relationships with children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Lead and Assistant Teachers by covering their duties at the end of the day
  • Communicate effectively with families
  • Actively supervise children and engage in play
  • Ensure the classroom is clean and organized at the end of the day

Qualifications:

  • Satisfactory completion of criminal background check
  • TB skin Test
  • Willing to receive Certification of Completion in CPR and First Aide training.
  • Willingness to complete/update professional development hours and obtain a CDA

Discipline & Counseling:

  • Teach and enforce classroom rules of conduct and behavior.
  • Maintain order in classroom and on playground.
  • At the direction of the Teacher, assist in maintaining classroom in a neat and clean manner.
  • Report needed repairs and maintenance to the Teacher.
  • Counsel students when emotional or academic problems arise.
  • Supervise student drop-off areas.
  • Shall use positive, non-severe and developmentally appropriate methods of discipline that encourage self-control, self-direction, self-esteem and cooperation that align with the conflict resolution method established by High Scope.

Job Type: Full-Time Benefits:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 7-4pm, 8-5pm or 9-6pm
