This role will be a vital member of the HR team that will be tasked with the administration, processing and communication of employee benefits, FMLA, ADA, leave of absences, short- and long-term disability, and the benefit termination notification processes. This role works a hybrid schedule Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for Benefits Specialist in our Raleigh headquarters. This role will be a vital member of the HR team that will be tasked with the administration, processing and communication of employee benefits, FMLA, ADA, leave of absences, short- and long-term disability, and the benefit termination notification processes. This role works a hybrid schedule Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.Administer all Leaves of Absences by timely responding to requests for leaves, preparing standard communications, entering leave information in HR systems, tracking leave information, and communicating aspects of the leave to the HR Business Partners, Management and employees.
  • Administers the following benefits - enrollments, terminations, data entry, claims processing, communication, tracking and reporting.
  • Health and Welfare Plans - Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings and Spending Accounts, Group and Voluntary Life, Short- and Long-Term Disability, and Retirement
  • Oversees benefit audits - dependent aging out, missing beneficiaries for life insurance, benefit deductions, vendor enrollment
  • Prepares Benefit Termination packages and enters COBRA information in vendor system. Ensures termination is entered in HR system upon disabled user access notification from IT.
  • Assists with HR Services Mailbox Administration which includes responding to inquiries, employment verifications and unemployment claims delivered via mail.
  • Conduct new employee Benefits orientation.
  • Monitor HR Services Inbox as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant work in a corporate HR setting.
  • Relevant work includes FMLA and Benefits Administration experience, including but not limited to Group Health, Welfare and Retirement benefits plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Must be able to work the hybrid schedule.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Preferred to Have:

  • Insurance industry experience
  • Workday Experience
