Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works closely with leadership to manage daily operations of the university childcare center, including advising and directing student employees and teaching assistants
  • Plans and implements weekly lesson plans based upon the approved curriculum to meet the needs and interests of the children
  • Develops center childcare and programming regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and maintain licensing and registration
  • Contributes to monthly newsletters and other informative materials for families and community members on various childcare development topics
  • Performs daily operations, such as delivering meals and sanitizing surfaces
  • Participates in center activities and events for students and their families
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of appropriate age-level learning psychology, styles, and strategies
  • Knowledge of applicable education laws, policies, and regulations
  • Skill in written and verbal communication
  • Skill in compiling, organizing, interpreting, and communicating data and results concisely
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple, competing tasks
  • Ability to establish, build, and maintain effective working relationships

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree in related field
  • 1 year of relevant experience

Specialized Contributor Level 2 - A fully functional role requiring established knowledge of the profession or field of work. Responsible for completing substantive assignments and projects. May provide assistance to entry level staff.
