Job Description

We are passionate about delivering the world’s most innovative and high quality communication services and products for the Deaf and Hard-of-hearing communities, and we are looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer that can match that passion. This person would work alongside equally committed members of a brilliant and friendly team to develop and test high quality software endpoints (iOS/Android/Amazon/Mac/Windows) products that help our customers, family members, and friends communicate. Under the direction of the software QA Manager, the Software Test Engineer will improve the quality of our products by writing, automating, and executing test cases, documenting defects as they are found and repaired, and reporting daily on the progress they have made to make our products better

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Test all aspects of Sorenson Communications and/or CaptionCall software and hardware products.
  • Work as part of a product development team.
  • Plan testing efforts and work within test timelines and schedules.
  • Create test cases and provide input to test plans.
  • Write and implement mobile test automation code to validate product quality.
  • Monitor, measure, and improve software development and test processes.
  • Diagnose product problems to ensure product standards are met.
  • Identify and resolve product defects.
  • Validate our software meets compliance requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Travel Requirements

Education

Minimum/Preferred   Education         Description

Minimum          4 Year / Bachelors Degree      Computer Science or related technical field preferred, or equivalent experience

Experience

1 year experience with professional software testing and QA practices, including automation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Programming skills -- Python/Swift or JavaScript preferred 
  • Knowledge of VoIP, SIP and call flows.
  • Mobile testing experience required 
  • Knowledge of iOS, and Android operating systems 
  • Solid experience with mobile test automation using Swift, XCUITest or Appium highly desired  
  • Network and user interface testing experience.
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Able to produce and exercise test procedures and recognize errors.
  • Strong ownership and organizational skills.
  • Strong trouble-shooting sills, abilities in root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with test automation scripting and execution.
  • Experience with professional software testing and QA practices.
