Software Test Engineer
The Opportunity:
When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development, and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need a knowledgeable test engineer like you who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.
As a Software Test Engineer on our team, you'll collaborate with developers, requirements analysts, and government stakeholders to validate software for your client. You'll create test strategies and detailed procedures, trace requirements to verification methods, and execute tests that span functional, integration, regression, performance, and mission-relevant evaluation. You'll track and report bugs, verify fixes, and help guide improvements throughout the development lifecycle.

You Have:
  • 2+ years of experience performing software testing, systems validation, or verification activities
  • Experience with Jira
  • Experience analyzing and comprehending software requirements, and defining test methods
  • Experience developing test plans, test cases, and detailed test procedures
  • Experience conducting functional, integration, regression, or performance testing
  • Experience in communicating findings to development teams
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and government test organizations
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED

  • Experience with SQL scripting
  • Experience with human resources IT systems

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
