Organization: STEM is Child's Play - AI Living Lab

Location: AI Living Lab

An Off-Campus Work-Study position - MUST have a Work-Study Award

Position Summary 

The Social Media & DigitalCommunications Coordinator is responsible for telling the story of STEM isChild's Play and the AI Living Lab through social media, photography, video,digital content, and community engagement. This position will document theorganization's programs, students, experiments, hydroponics, aquaponics,water-testing laboratory, events, and community impact.
This is a hands-on position. Thesuccessful candidate must be able to create content-not simply schedule posts.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the organization's social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
Create and maintain a monthly social media content calendar.
Photograph and record video of programs, workshops, students, experiments, plants, animals, events, and community activities.
Produce short-form videos, Reels, Stories, and YouTube Shorts.
Write engaging captions, announcements, educational posts, and promotional content.
Promote upcoming classes, workshops, events, water-testing services, STEM programs, and community activities.
Develop content that demonstrates the organization's impact and tells compelling stories about students and the community.
Maintain consistent branding and messaging across social media platforms.
Monitor comments, messages, and community engagement.
Identify opportunities to increase audience reach and participation.
Track basic social media analytics and report on engagement, reach, follower growth, and content performance.
Assist with promotion of media appearances, news coverage, grants, partnerships, and special events.
Maintain an organized digital library of photographs and video.
Obtain appropriate permissions/releases before publishing identifiable images or video of children and program participants.
Work with the Executive Director and program staff to identify stories and activities that should be promoted.
Assist with flyers, digital advertisements, newsletters, and other promotional materials as needed.
