Job description

Job Title: Entry-Level Security Systems InstallerPosition Overview

The Security Systems Installer is responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting integrated security systems at customer locations. This role requires adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC), company standards, and customer guidelines. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of completing installations independently.


Key Responsibilities
  • Install cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in accordance with NEC, company, and customer standards
  • Install and configure integrated security systems, including:
    • Access control systems
    • CCTV and IP camera systems
    • Digital and network video recorders
    • Intercom systems
  • Perform alarm system installations, including burglar and fire alarm systems
  • Read and interpret:
    • Blueprints and schematics
    • Technical diagrams and specifications
    • System submittals and product manuals
  • Utilize electronic test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve complex installation issues
  • Program and troubleshoot system components and software
  • Ensure all installations are completed accurately, efficiently, and safely
  • Maintain clear communication with team members, customers, and stakeholders
  • Work independently to plan, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks

Required Skills
  • Installation and servicing of CCTV systems and access control systems
  • Alarm system installation and troubleshooting
  • Low-voltage cabling and wiring
  • Knowledge of security systems and related technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics

Technical Qualifications
  • Experience with digital and analog camera systems
  • Knowledge of access control and burglar alarm systems
  • Understanding of alarm system design and functionality
  • Familiarity with IP-based security devices
  • Computer proficiency, including:
    • Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
    • Advanced TCP/IP networking fundamentals

Experience Level

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
