Job description

Position: Senior Buyer

Company: NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc.

Reports to: Director of Purchasing

Location: Amityville, NY


NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc. headquarters in Amityville Long Island NY, is a world-wide leader in the manufacturing of electronic security systems for over 50 years, seeking a well-rounded, "hands on" purchasing professional with a background in mechanical buying and some electronic component buying for a high-volume manufacturer.


Requirements:

  • Must have working knowledge in buying fabricated parts.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment in electronics purchasing group.
  • Must have working knowledge of materials, equipment and supplier capabilities.
  • Experience with the International buying process.
  • Holds supplier accountable to all required specifications are being met.
  • Experience with supplier selection and evaluations a plus.
  • Must be able to read drawings of fabricated parts.
  • Proficiency in MRP buying is necessary. Current platform is Infor and AS400 ERP, an equivalent ERP platform is acceptable.
  • Self-starter, flexible, strong negotiator, highly motivated, detailed oriented, and well organized.
  • Responsible for controlling inventory through purchases for buyer codes assigned.
  • Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing products.
  • Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
  • PCB boards would be a plus but not a requirement.
