This is a general management and leadership position responsible for overseeing fire alarm projects, service operations, inspections, technicians, code compliance, customer relationships, and overall departmental performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems with proven leadership, project management, and business-management skills. This individual will play an important role in maintaining exceptional service standards while helping expand our fire alarm and life-safety capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and management of fire alarm operations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop fire alarm technicians and supporting personnel.
  • Manage installation, service, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Ensure projects and service work meet applicable NFPA, NEC, local AHJ, state, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Review system designs, drawings, submittals, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance on complex fire alarm projects.
  • Coordinate project schedules, technicians, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.

  • Assist with estimating, proposals, project planning, and scope development.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Support inspections, permitting, commissioning, system acceptance, and closeout activities.
  • Ensure technicians follow established safety procedures, documentation standards, and company policies.

  • Identify opportunities for recurring inspections, monitoring, service agreements, system upgrades, and additional customer services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure appropriate records are available for regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for customers and internal teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Current NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level III certification required.
  • Significant professional experience with commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of fire alarm installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Demonstrated leadership or management experience within the fire alarm, life-safety, electrical, security, or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable fire alarm and life-safety codes and standards.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and construction documents.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, technicians, and customer priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional customer service and relationship-management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer and project locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing a fire alarm service or installation department.
  • Experience with fire alarm system design and engineering coordination.
  • Experience with estimating, budgeting, job costing, and project profitability.

  • Knowledge of commercial security, access control, surveillance, structured cabling, and other low-voltage systems.
  • Experience working with commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, government, or large institutional customers.
  • Manufacturer certifications across multiple fire alarm platforms.
