Position Summary
As a LONG Apprentice Security Technician, you will support the stable operation of customer equipment, both hardware and software. Your responsibilities will include installing, servicing, and maintaining security solutions and applications. Leveraging your knowledge of the security solutions industry, you'll assist other technicians with the installation, warranty, emergency, and maintenance services for installed systems. In this apprenticeship role, you will travel to customer sites, remote offices, and various locations to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the success of our security solutions team.
Pay Range: $21.19 - $27.57 per hr. plus potential profit share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties or tasks assigned as required.   • Assist with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of both IP and analog-based security systems, including access control, video management, intrusion detection, IP intercoms, and mass communication systems.
  • Support the development of project documentation by providing input for accurate “as-built” drawings.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, documenting, and installing low-voltage systems.
  • Attend construction meetings as required for individual projects.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical specifications to determine proper installation procedures.
  • Learn current on emerging technologies to deliver innovative and effective solutions to clients.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Attend and perform training functions as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1 year of related experience with IP based networking or electronic security systems required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Entry-level knowledge of basic electricity such as AC/DC theory, ohms law, ability to read and understand a digital volt/ohm meter.
  • Basic knowledge of IP based and electronic security systems.
  • Some working knowledge of access control systems, video surveillance, alarm systems, low-voltage wiring, and construction processes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
  • Strong customer service and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel to include department managers, project managers, engineers, sales, and controls technicians.
  • Place high emphasis on quality of work, attention to detail, customer service, and safe work practices for self and others.
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.

  • 2-year technical degree.
