Department: Fire Alarm Division
Reports To: Fire Alarm Operations Manager

The Fire Alarm Apprentice supports licensed technicians in the inspection, service, and repair of fire alarm systems across commercial customer sites. This role is designed as an entry point into the fire alarm trade, providing hands-on training, exposure to NFPA codes, and a clear path toward technical development and licensing.
This is a field-based, hands-on role requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, and interested in building a long-term career in the fire protection industry.Key Responsibilities
Field Service & Support
  • Assist licensed technicians with inspection, testing, and repair of fire alarm systems
  • Support scheduled service calls across commercial customer locations
  • Learn proper use of tools, equipment, and diagnostic processes

Training & Development
  • Learn to identify code violations and non-conformance issues
  • Develop understanding of NFPA codes and fire alarm system requirements
  • Participate in on-the-job training and technical skill development

Customer Interaction
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
  • Interact with customers in a respectful and service-oriented manner
  • Support technicians in communicating findings and service recommendations

Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain job site cleanliness and organization
  • Obtain OSHA 10 certification if not already held

Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support field operations and service delivery
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 0-2 years of mechanical, electrical, or construction-related experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed
  • OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
