Job description

The Security Assistant II is responsible for providing enhanced administrative support and has greater autonomy in carrying out security-related functions. Individuals in this role should demonstrate a deeper understanding of security practices and systems.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provides administrative support for SCC Det 5's Information, Physical, and Industrial Security programs, including managing documentation, training records, conferences, and trackers.
  • Operates the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to manage personnel access and visit requests. Maintains facility badge systems, Entry Access Lists (EAL), and Restricted Area Alarm Access Rosters (AAR). Ensure CAC updates and clearance verifications are current.
  • Conducts in-/out- processing of personnel, including vetting, training, clearance verification, granting/removing access, collecting badges, and conducting debriefings.
  • Performs base-directed and ah-hoc Random Anti-Terrorism Measures (RAMs). Conducts periodic entry-exit security inspections of classified areas and report findings.
  • Attends required base security trainings and briefings. Supports completion of Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT) checklists to maintain compliance.
  • Provides guidance to entry-level Security Assistances and ensure consistent application of security procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of one to three (1-3) of years relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
