The Sales Operations Consultant provides day-to-day sales operations, reporting, analytics, forecasting support, and process execution for the Optum Financial Provider Products distribution organization.


Reporting to the VP of Sales Operations, the Sales Operations Consultant will support the commercial operating infrastructure across the Provider Solutions portfolio, including provider banking, payments, lending, and future financial solutions. The role will integrate and analyze data across provider products and systems, produce leadership reporting, support forecasting, maintain dashboards, improve sales processes, and help ensure the Provider Sales team has accurate, timely, and actionable business information.


Note: Qualified candidates must live in the Eden Prairie MN regional area and be willing to work FT at the corporate office location.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sales Reporting, Forecasting, and Performance Analytics
    • Produce executive-level reporting, forecasting support, and performance analytics across the Provider Solutions portfolio
    • Integrate and analyze provider sales, pipeline, product adoption, Optum Pay, lending, and related commercial data to provide actionable insights
    • Identify risks, trends, opportunities, and emerging business issues through ongoing data analysis and performance monitoring
    • Support monthly business reviews, forecasting cycles, leadership updates, and management reporting
    • Maintain reporting accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and data integrity for leadership decision-making
  • Commercial Operations and Process Excellence
    • Develop, document, and optimize sales processes, workflows, operating procedures, and controls
    • Support Salesforce reporting, CRM hygiene, data quality initiatives, and sales process governance
    • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce manual work, improve operational efficiency, and increase sales productivity
    • Support automation and workflow enhancement initiatives that improve scalability across Provider Products
    • Partner with stakeholders to improve consistency, execution, and operational discipline across the sales organization
  • Data Management and Business Intelligence Support
    • Consolidate and manage large data sets from Salesforce, Optum Pay, lending platforms, and related Provider Solutions data sources
    • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and scorecards in Excel, Power BI, Salesforce, and other applicable tools
    • Track monthly metrics related to product adoption, provider engagement, sales activity, conversion, and pipeline progression
    • Provide ad hoc analysis and business insights to support sales leadership, general management, and cross-functional stakeholders
    • Improve the quality, usability, and consistency of commercial data assets
  • Sales Operations Execution and Business Support
    • Support sales leadership through operational reporting, territory planning, incentive reporting, pipeline tracking, and business review preparation
    • Assist with implementation of new processes, tools, reporting routines, and operating procedures
    • Coordinate operational support activities across Provider Products in partnership with Sales, Product, Finance, Marketing, and Operations teams
    • Serve as a trusted operational resource for Distribution leadership, sales leadership, and provider-facing team members
    • Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying practical ways to improve business processes, data quality, and operating outcomes

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in sales operations, revenue operations, commercial operations, business analytics, consulting, marketing operations, finance, or related roles
  • Experience producing business reporting, performance analytics, dashboards, or sales operations reporting.
  • Experience working with large data sets and translating data into business insights
  • Experience supporting forecasting, pipeline reporting, business reviews, or commercial performance measurement
  • Introductory Power BI experience, including dashboard maintenance, visualization development, or report creation
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, lookups, and large data manipulation
  • Introductory SQL proficiency with the ability to query, extract, and analyze business data
  • Live within a daily commute of our Eden Prairie Corporate Office campus and be able/willing to work from the office location 4-5 days per week


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Salesforce reporting, dashboards, data quality, or CRM processes
  • Experience supporting sales teams or provider-facing commercial organizations
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements or workflow automation
  • Healthcare, financial services, banking, lending, payments, fintech, or revenue cycle experience
  • Basic Python proficiency for data manipulation, automation, or reporting support
  • Exposure to AI-enabled productivity, reporting, or workflow tools


Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
