AspectEntry Level Rn RefresherLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
CredentialsRN license renewal, refresher coursesLPN license, practical nursing certification
Work EnvironmentHospitals, clinics, long-term care facilitiesSkilled nursing facilities, clinics, home health

The Entry Level Rn Refresher is designed for registered nurses seeking to renew or update their licensure, often after a break in practice. In contrast, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are licensed to provide basic nursing care and typically have different certification requirements. While both roles work in healthcare settings, the refresher is specific to RNs updating their credentials, whereas LPNs are practicing nurses with their own scope of practice.

Can I go straight to an entry level RN refresher with no experience?

An entry level RN refresher program typically requires prior nursing experience or licensure to ensure participants have foundational skills. These programs are designed to update and enhance skills for nurses returning to practice, so without any nursing background or license, eligibility may be limited. It is important to check specific program requirements before enrolling.
