Overview
The Technician II, Traveling is responsible for supporting new dental and medical office installations, office refresh projects, and technology deployments across multiple clinic locations. This role installs, configures, and troubleshoots IT equipment, including computers, networking devices, printers, phones, and clinical technology, while ensuring minimal disruption to patient care. The position requires up to 70% travel and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment with a strong focus on customer service and project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to dental/medical and support center locations to perform new office IT installations and office refresh projects
- Install, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, phones, printers, clinical equipment, and peripheral equipment
- Set up and test network infrastructure including switches, access points, cabling, and patch panels
- Perform hardware refreshes, system upgrades, and workstation replacements with minimal business disruption
- Image and configure systems according to enterprise standards
- Decommission, wipe, and properly dispose of or return retired equipment
- Coordinate project timelines with IT project managers, vendors, and site contacts
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation and connectivity issues during deployments
- Document installations, asset tags, and project completion in ticketing or asset management systems
- Ensure compliance with IT security, data protection, and safety standards
- Provide basic end-user support and orientation during go-live days
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in IT field services, deployments, or enterprise desktop support
- Strong experience with office IT installations and hardware refresh projects
- Proficiency with Windows and/or macOS operating systems
- Experience with system imaging tools and device provisioning
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
- Ability to lift, move, and install IT equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel approximately 70% of the time, including overnight or weekend travel
Preferred:
- Experience supporting multi-site enterprise office environments
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and VPNs
- Experience installing VoIP phones and conference room technology
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent
- Experience working on structured cabling or low-voltage installations

Salary Information
$27.50-$37.30 / Hourly
