An FSED (Free-Standing Emergency Department) RN job description typically involves providing direct nursing care to patients with a wide range of injuries and illnesses, including triage, assessment, and intervention in emergency situations, while adhering to established policies and protocols.

POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process and maintaining compliance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act. The provision of this care is to be conducted in a collaborative manner with all members of the healthcare team in order to deliver quality care and the best possible patient outcome.
ESSENTIAL CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL NURSE:
  • Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation
  • Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues
  • Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of recent (Within the last year) Acute Care ER RN experience.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held in another state, active FL RN compact license required within 90 days of hire. Advanced Nurse Practitioner license acceptable
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required within 30 days
