Buyer, Procurement - Buying & Category Management
The Buyer supports Indirect Procurement in purchasing goods and services that enable Signet's operations. This entry-level role provides day-to-day purchasing support, including purchase orders, supplier follow-up, issue resolution, and invoice discrepancies. Working under the guidance of Procurement Managers and Sr. Buyers, the Buyer will also gain exposure to category management, sourcing, supplier performance, and spend analysis while developing core procurement skills.
This role is designed for early-career professionals interested in building a career in Procurement and Supply Chain, with cross-training across key categories and functions.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations
  • Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders in line with company policies
  • Track orders and follow up with suppliers on delivery and status updates
  • Resolve purchasing, delivery, quality, and invoice issues with internal and external partners
  • Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing data in systems
  • Support Procurement Managers and Sr. Buyers with daily tasks and projects
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and financial controls

Category & Supplier Support
  • Support assigned categories under guidance from Procurement leadership
  • Assist with supplier communication, reporting, and performance tracking
  • Help analyze spend, pricing, and purchasing trends
  • Participate in supplier meetings, sourcing activities, and market research
  • Support process improvements and cost-saving initiatives

Budget & Analysis Support
  • Assist with budget and forecast preparation using historical spend data
  • Support monthly budget tracking and variance analysis
  • Help identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities

Development & Cross-Training
  • Cross-train across procurement categories and processes
  • Support sourcing, supplier reviews, and category planning activities
  • Learn procurement systems, tools, and best practices
  • Use Excel, Copilot, and analytics tools to support reporting and analysis
  • Participate in training and development opportunities

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or related field
  • Recent graduates and candidates with internships or related experience encouraged to apply

Experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, finance, or related field
  • Internship or project experience preferred

Skills
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to learn ERP/SAP and procurement systems
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working with data and using AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to support analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with suppliers and internal teams
