Job description

This position is a key entry-level role within the procurement department. The Junior Buyer prepares, and processes purchase orders, tracks and maintains records of purchased items, and coordinates with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies. This role requires close collaboration with leadership and other teams to assist with cost reduction strategies and process efficiencies.

Company:Cherokee Nation Entertainment

  • Associate's degree in business administration or other related field, and zero (0) to two (2) years of purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business concepts, including purchasing of assets and replenishment of inventory.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn purchasing and inventory specific programs.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify problems and review information to develop, evaluate, and implement solutions.
  • Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for materials, products, and services. 
  • Reviews purchase order claims for discrepancies and coordinates with leadership to resolve any defects or delivery issues. 
  • Maintains and tracks records of all purchased items, including costs, deliveries, and inventory levels. 
  • Coordinates payment processing for all purchased commodities. 
  • Ensures all purchasing activities are in compliance with company policies and applicable laws. 
  • Assists with negotiating rebates and developing strategies for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and process improvements.
