About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Shift Leader to support daily restaurant operations in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

This is an entry-level restaurant management role and a great opportunity for someone looking to grow into leadership. The Shift Leader will help supervise shifts, support team members, maintain food quality and cleanliness standards, and ensure guests receive fast, friendly, and accurate service.

The ideal candidate is dependable, positive, hands-on, and comfortable leading by example during busy shifts.

Position Overview

The Shift Leader supports the General Manager and management team by helping oversee day-to-day restaurant operations.

This role requires cross-training in crew-level positions in order to coach team members, support execution, and ensure the restaurant runs smoothly during assigned shifts. The Shift Leader may also act as manager on duty when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Leadership

Support daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts

Lead team members with clear communication and positive energy

Help ensure proper team deployment during busy periods

Assist with opening and closing procedures

Maintain a professional and guest-focused environment

Guest Experience

Ensure guests receive fast, friendly, and accurate service

Support service recovery when needed

Maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-organized restaurant

Help create a positive experience for every guest

Operational Support

Assist with record keeping, ordering, receiving, inventory, and daily procedures

Support proper sales procedures and cash management

Ensure shift tasks and checklists are completed accurately

Follow posted schedules and communicate with management regarding changes

Cash Handling

Process payments accurately using the restaurant cash register system

Follow proper cash handling and register procedures

Assign registers and assist with cash counts as needed

Investigate cash or operating discrepancies according to policy

Follow safe and deposit procedures

Food Safety and Quality

Protect food safety standards at all times

Monitor product quality, temperature standards, and critical control points

Take corrective action when food safety concerns arise

Follow sanitation, cleaning, and food handling procedures

Attend required food safety training as needed

Safety and Security

Help provide a safe working environment for team members and guests

Open and close the restaurant following security procedures when assigned

Safeguard keys, cash, and company assets

Report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or equipment concerns immediately

Follow safe work habits and proper cleaning chemical procedures

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old

High school diploma or GED required

0 to 3 years of restaurant, cashier, server, line cook, prep, or customer service experience preferred

Previous leadership or shift lead experience is helpful but not required

Ability to pass a background check if required

Food Handler Card required within the required state or county timeframe

Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to coach and teach job functions to team members

Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds

Ability to work around kitchen equipment, cleaning products, and restaurant operations

Most of the shift will be spent standing or walking
