Responsibilities

The Online Sales Consultant (OSC) serves as the first point of contact for prospective homebuyers and real estate agents, responding to inbound phone calls, emails, web, and chat inquiries. This role qualifies and nurtures leads, providing a best-in-class customer experience while directing prospects to the appropriate Designated Selling Area (DSA). The OSC acts as a liaison between online prospects and on-site sales teams, driving engagement and supporting the overall sales process.

Key Responsibilities

The Online Sales Consultant is responsible for:

  • Responding to all internet, phone, and chat inquiries promptly:
    • Internet leads within 1 hour of receipt
    • Phone inquiries within 1 hour of initial contact
    • Chat inquiries in real time during business hours
  • Engaging prospective buyers by:
    • Building rapport and conducting effective discovery
    • Educating on energy-efficient features, community amenities, and product offerings
    • Presenting floor plans, customization options, and unique selling points
  • Managing and nurturing leads using Salesforce:
    • Maintaining consistent follow-up to drive engagement
    • Executing targeted email drip campaigns
    • Tracking interactions and progressing leads through the sales funnel
  • Scheduling initial appointments between prospects and on-site Sales Counselors
  • Supporting real estate agents, including assistance with unaccompanied tours (e.g., Supra, ShowingTime)
  • Executing outbound call campaigns to promote:
    • Grand openings
    • Sales and realtor events
    • Model releases and other community updates
  • Maintaining strong collaboration with on-site Sales Counselors through:
    • Regular communication
    • Participation in training sessions and sales meetings
  • Partnering with Marketing to ensure accuracy of online content and lead generation efforts
  • Maintaining expertise in:
    • Community details (size, phases, location, surrounding amenities)
    • Product knowledge (plans, features, pricing, warranties)
    • Competitive positioning and market trends
  • Delivering an exceptional customer experience at all stages of the interaction
  • Following established workflows to ensure consistent, high-quality lead management

Education

  • High school diploma required
  • Some college coursework or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience

  • Experience in internet sales, inside sales, marketing, or lead generation preferred
  • Real estate license required where applicable
  • License must be active or inactive under the Meritage Homes Division brokerage

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
