What we are looking for:
We are in need of an experienced commercial real estate paralegal, who has experience closing real estate transactions, purchase/sale agreements, closing documents and deeds. The ideal candidate must be familiar with the entire closing process and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Also requires someone who can multi-task, but also be proficient, detail oriented, and produce quality and accurate work. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
The paralegal will be responsible for the following:
  • Assist from pre-closing through post-closing
  • Preparing closing package: conducting title searches, conducting due diligence reviews, preparing initial drafts of deeds of trust and mortgages and other real estate financing documentation
  • Preparing and tracking closing checklists and transactional documentation from letter of intent through completion of closing binders
  • Manage the real estate closing process, including compliance with real estate contracts, lender instructions, title requirements, company requirements and other written instructions.
  • Understand the escrow process to determine what steps need to be taken to transfer the title of property pursuant to the conditions called for in the real estate contract and lender instructions.
  • Prepare all closing documents necessary to ensure title insurance is issued at closing.
  • Assist all parties with closing related questions.
  • Prior to disbursement, confirm all funds are collected, all appropriate documents are checked for accuracy, signatures are collected, and acknowledgements and legal descriptions are correct.
  • Verify that all disbursements have been paid correctly.
  • Manage and develop client relationships to ensure future real estate closing transactions.
  • Correspond with clients, lenders, and attorneys as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous probate and estate planning work including working with probate petitions and estate planning documents such as wills, trusts and power of attorney.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned by General Counsel.
