Job description

R.J. Corman has an opening for an Truck and Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic in Nicholasville, KY to perform general maintenance on equipment, service repairs, and DOT inspections.
Responsibilities:
  • Applies well-developed knowledge and skills of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repair to a variety of on-rail and heavy equipment as well as over-the-road trucks.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses complicated mechanical failures.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • General trailer repair.
  • High rail inspections.
  • DOT inspections.
  • Maintains equipment cosmetics and cleanliness.
  • Practices safe working habits.
  • Ensures working conditions are safe and that proper PPE is being used as job duties require.
  • Assists storm team when required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: 3 years of mechanical experience with over-the-road trucks and/or heavy equipment or technical degree required. Both a plus!
Physical Requirements: Agility to perform mechanical repair; lifting of up to 100 pounds in the performance of duties.
Environmental Conditions: Performs duties in multiple environments including shops as well as outside construction project settings, in and around moving vehicles and equipment. Possible dusty/oily working conditions to complete repair.
