Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Position Overview

The purpose of the Quality Assurance Technician I is to support Plant and Business Quality Control needs. These include gage calibrations and maintenance, first piece inspections, production quality assurance, supplier quality assurance, warranty returned product analysis, and ISO quality system audits if assigned. Duties include testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process, from incoming inspection through finished goods. Problem solving, attention to detail, teamwork, effective communication, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read product drawings and specifications are required. This is an entry level, hands-on technical position that operates on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete 1st piece / 1st article inspections and communicate results with the production lines producing the 1st pieces.

  • Audit production line quality for product conformance and assist production associates with production line quality assurance and troubleshooting.

  • Complete product tear downs, warranty analysis, and report technical results.

  • Complete measurement and analysis of non-conforming material and assist in dispositioning and processing of these materials.

  • Complete measurement, analysis, and disposition of supplier purchased product.

  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as steel rules, calipers, gauges, micrometers, CMMs, etc.

  • Support the calibration, repair, purchasing, and disposal of measurement devices and gages while maintaining current and accurate documentation of schedules and results.

  • Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments as required.

  • Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.

  • Available to work 2nd shift core hours: Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11pm

  • 1+ years of experience in a Quality role, preferred not required.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques used to verify product conformity, effective manufacture, and distribution of goods, preferred.

  • Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Teams, ERP system; SAP experience desired but not required.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Effective communication skills with production associates, management, shipping, and supervisors.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot routine quality issues.

  • Willingness to learn quality inspection methods, measurement techniques, and metrology practices.

Physical Demand and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 25 pounds frequently to constantly.

  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time as necessary in the work area.
