Description

At Friedman's Home Improvement, we strive to deliver the Human Side of Home Improvement. We are Born to Connect, Lead, Grow, Serve and Care; we are Friedman's. Our dynamic Company is looking for customer service-oriented Team Members to join our Front End team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This is the entry level position in the Delivery series. Team Members learn as they perform the essential job duties and as work experience is gained. Team Members may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency that meets the qualifications for the higher-level class.

  • Organize and load product for delivery utilizing the manifest assuring the most efficient delivery route and schedule
  • Obey all regulatory agency and company safety directives; conducting a safe work zone during each job site
  • Follow the assigned delivery schedule and all job directives precisely
  • Gather appropriate paperwork for deliveries; ensure accuracy of items for delivery
  • Deliver product as per customer requirements in the most expeditious and courteous manner, obtain signatures and completing all required paperwork
  • Work closely with dispatch for route schedules and communication throughout the workday
  • Accept returns from customer, complete appropriate paperwork and return to warehouse. Place product in return area with appropriate documentation
  • Avoid damaging job site property (particularly driveways) when unloading materials Document and report any damage to products, customer's property or to delivery truck.
  • Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate. Inform supervisor of outstanding issues
  • Maintain daily pre-trip and trip log book as required by company policy
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and report any maintenance problems to supervisor
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance and monitors work to ensure quality
  • Meets productivity standards, completes work in timely manner, strives to increase productivity; works efficiently and quickly
  • Additional duties as assigned by Manager

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Licenses and Certification:

  • Possess a valid Class A driver's license – Must have a current Motor Vehicle Report that represents a history of safe and competent driving and have current DOT medical certification card

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
