Overview

This position's primary function is to keep the facility clean in order to eliminate safety and fire hazards. The individual in this position will work in the Sawmill and Planer; they are asked to perform the following tasks; general facility clean up including picking up slabs, sticks, sawdust, chips off lower mill floors, and assist with dust mitigation.

Shift is depending on needs of operation - Day or Swing

Responsibilities
  • Pick up slabs, sticks, sawdust, and chips off lower mill floors
  • Assist with dust mitigation
  • Maintain a safe environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures. 
  • Must complete and pass the Rolling Stock training classes and re-certify annually. 
  • Must complete Chainsaw safety class before using a chainsaw. 
  • Maintain training in safety and how to lock out machinery before getting under, around or in machinery will be required
  • Follow lockout procedures and company policy.
  • Apply good housekeeping standards to your work area or any area you observe
  • Assist in other areas/jobs in the mill when needed/assigned.
Qualifications
  • Completion of high-school or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Sawmill experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to safely work at a moderate to fast pace
  • Lifting is 20-30 pounds on a continuous basis
