The location in Bennettsville, (South Carolina, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Process Engineer, Entry. This job is full-time permanent.
As an Entry Level Process Engineer in the Pulp and Utilities Department, you will be part of a team that shapes the future of innovation in the Pulp and Paper industry. Our ELEs enter the workforce and immediately begin to impact the organization by helping us bring world-class innovation to market and design our next generation of amazing products that people touch every day.
The Pulp and Utilities Department includes both the Fiberline and the Recovery & Utilities (R&U) areas. This position has responsibilities as listed below.
Key Responsibilities
  • Be an advocate for and an active member of the Pulp and Utilities (P&U) management team
  • Support all operations and maintenance activities of the P&U area
  • Monitor daily operations for environmental compliance
  • Review daily operations strategies to ensure that we are safely and efficiently meeting our goals
  • Help identify and participate in continuous improvement and cost savings projects
  • Work with shift teams and technicians to troubleshoot issues as they arise in daily operations
  • Participate in planning of outages and react to unscheduled events
  • Help to facilitate good communications between the rotating shift teams, day maintenance teams, contract maintenance teams, and day staff
  • Participate in troubleshooting efforts such as Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Participate in review of existing SOP's, development of new SOP's, and training of personnel as needed

Required Qualifications / Experience
  • Recent graduate with BS in Pulp and Paper (Paper Science) or Chemical Engineering
  • High degree of computer literacy to include MS Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient planning, organization, and time-management skills
  • Results-focused and detail-oriented
  • Well-developed problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • The candidate should be familiar with or capable of learning the kraft recovery cycle
  • Safety and team-oriented with a good work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Experience with SAP, Excel, Word, PI, and PARCView is desirable.
