About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Design/BIM Technician to join our dynamic BIM department. This entry-level position offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop skills in Building Information Modeling (BIM). The successful candidate will work alongside experienced team members to help manage and support the development of BIM models for various projects. This is an exciting opportunity to grow in the field of BIM while contributing to innovative construction processes.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Revit: Proficient in creating families, templates, and parameters in Revit.
  • Navisworks: Run clash detections, navigate through models, and identify and address potential issues.
  • BlueBeam: Experience in utilizing BlueBeam for collaboration and project management.
  • Shop Drawings: Initiate and create shop drawings according to project specifications.
  • Model Modification Support: Assist Coordinators in modifying and updating models.
  • Document Interpretation: Comprehend and interpret architectural, construction, and engineering design documents.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively within a BIM/CAD support team to ensure consistent project outcomes.
  • Other Duties: Contribute to various BIM-related tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Revit (creating families, templates, and parameters).
  • Proficient in Navisworks (clash detection and model navigation).
  • Proficient in BlueBeam.
  • Able to create shop drawings as required for each project.
  • Strong ability to read and understand architectural, construction, and engineering design documents.
  • Familiarity with structural documents in relation to BIM projects.
  • Previous experience in a BIM or CAD-related role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree in Design or a related field, or a minimum of 2 years of equivalent work experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Revit Architecture 2017 or newer version.
  • Navisworks: Manage 2017 or newer version.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of basic construction processes and procedures.
  • Intermediate PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
  • Eagerness to assist and support staff with a positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to uphold standards and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Willingness to utilize professional judgment and contribute to maintaining NGis infrastructure and standards.
