Job Description

Power Systems Division is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Documentation Technician within the Engineering Team to focus on our engine-driven products. This position requires exceptional organizational skills to drive our crucial design documentation that helps bring our ideas to life.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and modify engineering deliverables, including drawings, models, engineering specification sheets, circuit diagrams, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), deviations, parts entries, and Bills of Material (BOM) versions.
  • Collaborate with Technical Publications, Engineering, Technical Service, and Marketing teams across New Product Development (NPD) and product sustainment, creating documentation and parts structures for new products and reviewing and revising parts lists, service parts kits, service memos, field instructions, ownerโ€™s manuals, and technical manuals for existing products.
  • Act as the documentation liaison between Engineering, Materials, Production, and Accounting by coordinating and creating supplier documentation packages (circuit board layouts and Bills of Material) for internal and external suppliers.
  • Participate in Documentation Technician meetings to stay informed of and implement changes to documentation standards.
  • Facilitate regular ECO meetings between Engineering, Operations, and Materials groups.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess or be actively enrolled in pursuit of an Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Quality Control, Electronics Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
  • Demonstrate a positive, growth-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to produce clear, accurate, and detailed technical documentation is required.
  • ย Ability to work effectively in both team-based and independent environments, demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to proactively seek out information and ensure accurate, complete, and standardized documentation while balancing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit diagrams and electrical product manufacturing processes to properly structure and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Fluent using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with 2D and 3D modeling tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in design and documentation.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  • Experience using Arena Empower (Omnify) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
