Job description

At Canfor Spruceland, we don’t just make lumber—we make products that end up in homes, businesses, and communities across Western Canada.  As a Production Labourer at our Remanufacturing facility, you’ll play a hands-on role in producing a variety of high-quality lumber products. This is an entry-level position with full training provided—perfect for someone who is safety-minded, dependable, and ready to build a career in the forestry industry. 

This role is a fulltime rotating schedule of two weeks of days and two weeks of nights.  

Day shift: Monday – Friday 6:00AM - 4:00PM  

Night Shift: Monday – Thursday 5:15PM – 3:15AM (Fridays off!) 

The role requires extended periods of using your hands, arms, and wrists while working alongside conveyor belts. This may encompass, but is not limited to: 

  • Operate and assist with saws, chippers, forklifts, and other equipment. 

  • Stack lumber manually or with mechanical assistance. 

  • Grade wood products by inspecting defects such as knots, splits, and warping. 

  • Apply grade stamps and labels to finished products. 

  • Operate forklifts to load and unload product; move materials between workstations. 

  • Support machine setup and changeovers. 

  • Use power tools to shape and manipulate wood components. 

  • Perform general labour duties, including housekeeping and general cleanup. 

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. 

  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and meet production targets. 

For this role, you come equipped with: 

  • Ability to perform repetitive, manual tasks for extended periods of time including piling lumber, standing for long hours, walking, shoveling, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs 

  • Experience with and/or around machinery and equipment is an asset but not mandatory  

  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers 

  • High degree of urgency and attention to detail
