Job description

Do you take pride in crafting authentic, New Yorkโ€“style pizza from scratch?

At Josephโ€™s Classic Market, our in-store Pizzeria brings the energy and flavor of a true New York pizzeria right into our stores. As a Pizza Maker, you are at the heart of that experience โ€” handcrafting fresh pizza pies, calzones, garlic knots, and specialty items while delivering high-quality customer service. Your skill, speed, and attention to detail ensure every slice meets the standards our customers expect.

Youโ€™re not just preparing food โ€” youโ€™re creating an experience.

Growth & Learning at Josephโ€™s

We believe in developing our team from within. As a Pizza Maker, youโ€™ll refine your culinary skills, strengthen your understanding of food quality and safety, and build efficiency in a high-volume environment. Many of our leaders started in entry-level or production roles, and weโ€™re committed to supporting team members who demonstrate craftsmanship, reliability, and a desire to grow into advanced culinary or leadership positions.

Routine Tasks:

  • Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized suggestions
  • Prepare pizza pies, calzones, garlic knots, and other pizza items according to Josephโ€™s recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
  • Restock and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
  • Answer phone calls and accurately take and prepare customer orders
  • Plate, package, and present items to meet Josephโ€™s quality and appearance standards
  • Accurately package, label, and price self-service items
  • Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
  • Operate pizza ovens, meat and cheese slicers, knives, scales, and other Pizza equipment safely
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior pizza preparation experience required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
  • Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • A passion for serving people and creating quality food

Physical & Work Environment

A Pizza Maker performs tasks primarily within the Pizza department. This role involves walking and standing for prolonged periods and lifting products weighing up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent interaction with customers and fellow team members in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Benefits Include:

  • Positive Work Environment
  • Competitive Pay
  • Health, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Plan
  • Paid Time Off & Personal Days
  • 20% Employee Discount
