POSITION INFORMATION
General:
  • Visit assigned customers
  • Prospect for new customers
  • Act as a public relations liaison for the dealership
  • Follow up on parts orders to ensure that customers have been served properly

Ordering Procedures:
  • Communicate parts orders to parts advisors. Advise whether status is stock or emergency. If emergency, parts advisor will check and advise on availability.
  • Advise parts advisor on delivery instructions. All requests for delivery "same day" by the dealership truck should be in by 8 am.
  • Verify with customers if delivery date of non-stock items is acceptable with all customers before ordering

Other:
  • Turn in call reports along with time sheets
  • Review any special orders with the Outside Sales Manager and obtain his/her approval
  • Obtain Outside Parts Sales Manager's approval for any special pricing
  • Attend training seminars when possible
  • Coordinate service sales with service salespeople
  • Advise Outside Sales Manager of changes in customers' names, addresses, etc.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other contacts. Professional personal appearance and dress. Knowledge of truck parts. Will be trained on dealership's parts inventory system. Must be able to judge when emergency purchases are and are not justified and to coordinate orders with parts advisors. You must possess a valid driver's license and have a driving record that meets our criteria. You will be required to obtain and maintain a DOT Driver Medical certification.
MANDATORY SMARTPHONE CAPABILITY
Employment in this position requires possession of a personal smartphone capable of downloading, installing, and reliably operating company-issued mobile applications. These applications are mandatory for completing safety inspections, reviewing coaching materials, monitoring driving performance, receiving critical notifications, and accessing other required safety resources.
Our payroll and attendance processes also operate through a mobile application. All employees must clock in and out using this system as part of standard timekeeping procedures.
Ability to meet this requirement is a condition of employment.
Working Conditions:
Will spend six to eight hours a day driving and calling on customers and vendors, moving about their offices.
