What does an entry level orthopedic CNA do?

An Entry Level Orthopedic Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides basic patient care for individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries or injuries, such as hip or knee replacements. Their duties include assisting patients with mobility, personal hygiene, and daily activities, as well as helping with physical therapy exercises under supervision. They work closely with nurses and therapists to monitor patients' conditions and ensure a safe environment, supporting the overall recovery process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level orthopedic CNA?

Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and orthopedic mobility aids such as slings, braces, and transfer boards is important. Compassion, patience, and strong teamwork skills help you provide support to patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries and surgeries.
