Telecommunications Construction - Entry level

About this Position: FNS is looking to hire in-house construction support personnel. Several positions are available for training to include Construction ground hand, Coaxial splicing including Richmond, VA. Fiber Optic splicing. Experienced preferred, but will-train qualified candidates to work with our outside-plant construction teams. You'll join an existing team of Construction personnel working many types of Aerial and/or Underground Fiber Optic/Coax construction projects. This position is a perfect entry into Fiber Optic and Broadband High-Speed Data construction. Fast paced and field oriented. This is a full-time position.
Additional long-term training will be available for Aerial and Underground construction to include Management opportunities.
About Our Organization: Fiber Network Services is a communications contractor offering a full range of fiber optic cable network services. With Master Construction Agreements with Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Crown Castle, Segra, Suddenlink, Windstream, and RCN in the State of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, and in Washington D.C., we are a trusted resource for cabling and maintaining high-speed internet connectivity via fiber optic and Coaxial systems.
Hours/Week: 40+, occasional overtime may be required
Compensation: $13 - $18 per/hour. Depending on experience, higher rates may be offered.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work outside in Public Right-of-Way environments
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and work within a team environment
  • Ability to be at work every day at 7am
  • Ability to occasionally be On-Call for after-hours emergency work
  • Possession of a valid Driver's license
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to speak fluent English,
  • Ability to read and understand technical instruction
  • Knowledge of basic computing skills to include Email clients
  • Years of Experience: 1-3 preferred or will train select candidates
  • Education: High School or G.E.D.
