Job description


The Waste Operations Analyst is an entry-level position that supports commercial and specialized waste operations through structured data analysis, research, and administrative support. Working within established procedures, this role helps identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, optimize services, and reduce customer costs. It is well-suited for individuals at the start of their careers who demonstrate strong analytical ability, meticulous attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. As knowledge, accuracy, and proficiency grow, responsibilities will expand to include more complex operational and analytical tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Support the analysis of commercial and specialized waste programs by reviewing operational performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Collect, organize, and review operational, financial, and service data to support decision-making and reporting.
  • Assist with evaluating vendor pricing, service levels, utilization, and contract information to ensure cost-effective and reliable services.
  • Support cost reduction and service optimization initiatives by following established company procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist with specialized waste projects involving hazardous, non-hazardous, and other regulated waste streams while adhering to company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports, maintain documentation, and update customer and vendor information within company systems to ensure accurate and current records.
  • Utilize company-approved software and analytical tools, including reporting platforms and video analysis tools, to support operational analysis and project work.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Vendor Management, Customer Management, and other internal departments to support cross-functional initiatives and ensure aligned service delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the broader operations and business needs.

Essential Skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Environmental Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and datasets accurately.
  • Ability to interpret data and identify trends that support operational improvements and cost savings.
  • Ability to learn technical processes, business systems, and applicable regulatory requirements related to waste operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
