POSITION OVERVIEW
At Provident Bank, we are committed to maintaining operational resilience and supporting the continued success of our critical business operations. We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Continuity Coordinator to join our Operational Risk Programs team.
In this role, you will support Provident's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Program by helping maintain policies, plans, and procedures that align with industry standards and practices. Working closely with management, Information Technology, Information Security, and key business partners, you will help ensure the Bank is prepared to respond to disruptions, recover critical functions, and meet business, regulatory, and operational resiliency objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Assist the ORM Manager with developing, coordinating, assessing, and communicating Business Continuity Plans associated with the Bank's functions and departments.
  • Regularly review and update Business Continuity Plans to reflect changes in business operations, technology, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and areas of operational risk.
  • Support the development of mitigation strategies and contingency plans under the guidance of the ORM Manager.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities in the event of a disruption.
  • Schedule and facilitate drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of Business Continuity Plans and staff preparedness.
  • Engage with Subject Matter Experts to coordinate external Disaster Recovery testing and document the Bank's ability to recover and resume services within defined tolerances.
  • Work within Operational Risk Management's vendor management function to evaluate the effectiveness of vendor Business Continuity and resilience plans.
  • Provide Business Continuity resources and support within the Bank's Third-Party Risk Management Program.
  • Participate in the Bank's incident response process, including investigations, detection, triage, analysis, containment, and post-incident activities.
  • Prepare and assist ORM Management with presenting reports on business continuity status, risks, and incidents to executive management and the Board of Directors.
  • Communicate with regulators and auditors during examinations by providing clear, comprehensive presentations and reports as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business continuity planning, risk management, or a related field, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Proven experience reporting to and working with senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to present effectively in front of regulators and other external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in business continuity software and tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or proven expertise derived from work experience.
  • Background in risk management with experience performing business impact assessments, crisis management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Professional certification such as CBCP, MBCP, or similar is desired but not required.
  • Experience communicating with executive management, the Board of Directors, and regulatory agencies.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting. This role may require travel between Provident and its subsidiaries' locations.

Pay Details:
$70,000-$100,000 annually
Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs.
This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
