Description Position is responsible for tracking of cases and holds placed on inmates and determines if those inmates shall be released, transferred or remain incarcerated. Inmate Logistics staff must read and comprehend court minutes and various documents and take appropriate action. Examples of Duties Responsible for maintaining accurate data for each inmate incarcerated in Marion County and other facilities with a Marion County hold.
Accurately updates the Offender Management System for case and appropriate security level/housing assignments. Responsible for ensuring all necessary documentation is received and properly completed. Efficiently utilize the email system as well as IDACS/NCIC/NLETS.
Responsible for calculating dates for sentenced inmates based on information received from the Court and to ensure the inmates is in the release process on the intended date or sent to Community Corrections/Indiana Dept. of Corrections as directed. Responsible for assisting the public; other officers add from all Local, State, and Federal Agencies by email, in person and on the phone.
Responsible for booking on new outright arrests or open warrants for in-custody inmates and ensuring these inmates are processed by the MCSO Processing Staff and the MCSO Identification Unit. Responsible for updating their skills to keep abreast of changes in directives, procedures, and laws. Responsible for ensuring all equipment is accounted for and properly maintained, and the work area is kept clean and orderly.

Typical Qualifications High school education and/or High School Equivalent (HSE). Ability to communicate effectively & efficiently, both orally and in written format.
Must be able to obtain and maintain IDAC/NCIC certification. Must be able to comprehend various computer programs. Must be able to accurately key data.
Must be able to handle standard office equipment along with audio communications (radio) equipment. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision on weekends and holidays. Rotating schedule to cover 24/7 operations of Inmate Logistics - must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Civilian Employees shall have her/his principal place of residence within the boundaries of Marion County within six months of employment. Supplemental Information Actions are controlled by established rules and regulations and civil/criminal laws. Clerks use judgment as necessary in the effective handling of issues.
High degree of confidentiality required. Work is generally performed independently; supervisory assistance is available when needed.
