Job description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Shipping Associate is responsible for picking and packing customer orders with power equipment.

Compensation: $19.00 per hour.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:30pm - 5:00am

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Responsible for moving/sorting product from the receiving dock to the appropriate warehouse pick/storage location by powered equipment according to current receiving guidelines. (Minimum of 50% of time).
  • Responsible for general receiving, unloading product from various transportation carriers, checking in product and matching purchase orders to pack lists.
  • Responsible for marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Responsible for organizing warehouse and work areas for orderliness at all times.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

Mental Functions:

Refers to positions where the incumbent performs the required tasks independently. The incumbent may perform duties in the areas of technical support, design and analysis, and can be required to make recommendations. The person holding such a position may also exercise supervisory responsibilities, but not on a regular and ongoing basis. Work is performed under the general supervision of an immediate supervisor, who reviews the completed work in order to assess the degree of judgment and compliance with standards.

Physical Functions:

Standing 20%, Walking 50%, Lifting 30%

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Warehouse environment, subject to moderate temperature changes. There are minimal health hazards due to working on or around a forklift.
