Job description

Solar Laborer Lead

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a Solar Laborer Lead that will be responsible for the preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •  Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of laborers and their assigned roles  
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations  
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge capacities of equipment and assigned personnel  
  • Study/analyze in schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job  
  • Analyze and resolve work problems  
  • Maintain time records  
  • Make cost estimate for contracts  
       1. Use logical step-by-step procedures in work  
       2. Plan work and solve problems  
       3. Make decisions based on measurable information  
       4. May operate machinery  
  • Provide work direction to laborer I, II, Journeyman, Apprentice, and Helpers  
  • Work according to standard, detailed instructions and established, well-defined procedures  
  • Determine work method from alternative  
  • Work under broad assignment  
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels 
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance  
  • All other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience in construction preferred 
  • Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies 
  • Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback 
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements 
  • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
