Job description

Job Title: Commercial Solar Installer / Solar Laborer

Job Description

This role focuses on commercial rooftop solar work, including the removal and reinstallation of existing solar systems on multi-story buildings. You will work as part of a field crew to safely handle solar panels, racking systems, and related equipment while following all fall protection and safety protocols. The position is ideal for experienced solar professionals who are comfortable working at heights and have hands-on experience with SolarEdge systems.

Responsibilities

  • Remove existing commercial rooftop solar systems, including solar panels and racking components, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Reinstall solar systems after removal, ensuring all panels, racking, and related equipment are securely and correctly mounted.
  • Work comfortably and safely on a two-story rooftop, consistently using appropriate fall protection equipment and procedures.
  • Operate hand and power tools to complete installation, removal, and reinstallation tasks according to project specifications.
  • Follow established safety standards and guidelines, including fall protection training requirements and site-specific safety rules.
  • Collaborate with other solar installers and solar laborers to complete projects on schedule and to quality standards.
  • Assist with general rooftop labor tasks, such as material handling, staging, and site cleanup related to solar installation work.
  • Inspect work areas and equipment for potential hazards and promptly report any safety concerns.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized, and working condition.
  • Follow instructions from site leads or supervisors and adapt to changing project needs on the rooftop worksite.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of hands-on solar installation experience, preferably in commercial rooftop environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working as a solar installer or solar laborer on rooftop projects.
  • Proficiency with SolarEdge systems and components used in solar installations.
  • Comfort and capability working on a two-story roof, including navigating and performing tasks at heights.
  • Completion of fall protection training and ability to apply fall protection practices consistently.

Pay and Benefits
