Job description

General Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plumbing Foreman to lead field crews and manage day-to-day operations for plumbing installations in residential construction throughout the Columbus area. This position requires hands-on supervision, coordination with project managers, and quality assurance from rough-in through final inspection.
Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership & Field Supervision
  • Direct and supervise plumbing crews on one or more active job sites.
  • Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to schedules and installation standards.
  • Promote a safe, professional, and team-oriented work environment.

Project Coordination
  • Work closely with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, isometric drawings, and scope documents to guide installations.
  • Ensure all plumbing systems meet plans, local Ohio plumbing codes, and company standards.

Quality Control & Inspections
  • Conduct regular site walkthroughs to confirm work quality and code compliance.
  • Prepare sites for municipal and third-party inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues quickly while enforcing company QA/QC procedures.

Material & Schedule Management
  • Coordinate the delivery and staging of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Track project progress to ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Minimize waste and maintain accurate inventory records.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Keep detailed records of job site activity, inspections, and safety logs.
  • Provide timely updates on progress, delays, and change orders to project management.

Specific Qualifications
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 4 years of field plumbing experience in multifamily or residential construction, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of Ohio plumbing codes, systems, and best practices.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specification sheets.
  • Skilled in coordinating labor, managing schedules, and inspecting installations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varying conditions.
  • Work outdoors in heat, cold, and weather-exposed environments.
  • Stand, walk, climb ladders, and access tight spaces for extended periods.
  • Travel between multiple job sites as needed.

Work Environment
This position operates primarily on active residential construction sites throughout the Columbus area. The work environment includes exposure to construction noise, dust, uneven terrain, and weather conditions. The Plumbing Foreman will regularly interact with field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and project managers. A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and professionalism is essential.
