Civil Engineer (Entry-Level / Recent Graduates Welcome)

What You’ll Do

As an entry-level civil engineer, you’ll jump right into real-world projects and build your skills from day one. You’ll:

  • Help design land and site development projects while gradually taking on more responsibility
  • Perform engineering calculations that directly impact design decisions
  • Assist in creating site plans, reports, and permit applications
  • Use tools like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydrologic modeling software to tackle challenges in grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater
  • Partner with drafters to bring concepts to life through detailed plans and drawings
  • Research codes, regulations, and design approaches—and clearly communicate your findings
  • Support project managers with coordination, scheduling, and project tracking
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute your ideas in a team environment
  • Grow into ownership of design tasks as your confidence and skills develop

What We’re Looking ForEducation & Early Career Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Open to recent grads and candidates with 0–3 years of experience
  • Internship or academic exposure to land/site development is a plus (but not required!)
Technical Foundations
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
  • Basic understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, or stormwater design
  • Ability to apply engineering principles and perform calculations
Nice-to-Have (We’ll Help You Grow These!)
  • FE Exam passed or working toward EIT certification
  • Exposure to HydroCAD, StormCAD, or similar software
  • Interest in pursuing your Professional Engineer (PE) license

This role is based out of our Plainville or Poughkeepsie office, where you’ll collaborate with a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team. You’ll work on meaningful projects that shape communities, all while building your technical expertise in a supportive and professional setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainville, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.65 - $40.00/hr.
