Job Description
In this position, you will play a vital role in supporting a well-established military surplus store by performing high-quality alterations and repairs on military apparel and accessories. You will work with a variety of garments and materials, ensuring each item meets proper standards and customer expectations. This temp-to-hire opportunity, supported by strong attendance and a dedicated work ethic, offers the potential for long-term career growth and advancement.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform alterations, repairs, and modifications on military clothing and accessories, including uniforms, jackets, pants, hats, patches, and insignia
  • Utilize sewing machines, sergers, and hand-sewing techniques to complete detailed work efficiently
  • Measure, cut, and assemble garments with precision and attention to detail
  • Monitor sewing materials and equipment, reporting shortages or maintenance needs as necessary
  • Maintain knowledge of sewing techniques, fabrics, and military uniform standards to ensure quality craftsmanship
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety guidelines
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Seamstress, Tailor, or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, including alterations, repairs, and garment construction
