Job description

Mental Performance Coach (Crew SC Team Company, LLC dba Columbus Crew) (Columbus, OH): Develop the club’s mental performance program with input and guidance from key stakeholders; Deliver a variety of effective programming, including group facilitation, 1:1 consults, educational seminars, and other services; Provide feedback to key stakeholders to improve communication, teamwork, and leadership; Provide insights into team dynamics that impact group functioning and chemistry; Provide educational opportunities to staff that foster a positive culture, team building, and growth; Maintain records through Athlete Management System (AMS); Provide individual-based mental skills to athletes through daily assessments, teaching mental skills and techniques, meeting with injured athletes, and building confidence; and Offer initial mental health support to athletes, including communicating with Director of Sports Science and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) when a referral is warranted. In order to complete the above-mentioned tasks, the following skills and experience are required: Experience maintaining confidentiality and discretion handling sensitive matters involving athletes; Experience managing multiple caseloads within an athletic organization; Experience working with multiple age groups ranging from adolescents to adults; Experience working with and maintaining accurate records in Athlete Management Systems like ActionApps or KitmanLab; and Experience providing mental health services within a sports environment including mental performance coaching, sports psychology, or leadership coaching. Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Psychology, Neuroscience, Mental Health or related field, and at least two (2) years of experience as a Mental Performance Coach, Development Coach, Mental Performance Consultant or related occupation.

Travel required: 15 % to multiple locations across the U.S. and Canada, as well as potential for travel to Central America. Salary: $75,000 - $95,000/year.
