Job Details:

Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading and directing a team of hourly employees in the collection of biological sample data from chickens at Cobb pedigree farms. The role supports the achievement of genetic gain and competitive advantage as established by R&D Leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate sample collection activities and ensure quality standards are met at pedigree farms.
  • Collect, compile, and manage biotech sample data.
  • Maintain inventory levels at each pedigree farm.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with farm and biotech management teams.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • College degree or equivalent experience with limited professional experience required.

Accountability

  • Entry-level professional role responsible for supervising an individual or small group of non-exempt team members (e.g., clerical, administrative, and production).
  • Provide training, monitor work quality, and coach team members on performance.
  • Accountable for the quality and accuracy of team output.
  • Ability to work independently and evaluate alternatives in situations not covered by established procedures.

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data collection and management is required.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Direct supervision of two (2) hourly team members.

Travel

  • 1-5 domestic trips per year.

Work Environment and Biosecurity Requirements

  • This position works in a biosecure environment, requiring shower-in procedures before entering facilities and potentially multiple showers throughout the workday.
  • Company-provided clothing and footwear must be worn.
  • No jewelry is permitted on-site, except for medical ID jewelry.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with avian species (e.g., chickens, ducks, birds) outside of work.
  • Adherence to all Company Animal Welfare policies and Cobb Farm/Hatchery Biosecurity Standards is required at all times.

Physical Requirements

  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, and communicate effectively.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Must follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when visiting facilities.
