Job description

The entry-level Controls Commissioning Technician works with a team of Controls Commissioning Engineers to design and integrate controls systems for industrial material-handling solutions and production lines. The Controls Commissioning Engineer is a travel-based role that works at various job sites (customer facilities) to support the onsite commissioning of TGW's material-handling solutions.
What you'll be handling
  • Assists in the calibration and configuration of instrumentation, sensors, and control devices.
  • Performs functional testing and validation of equipment and systems to ensure proper installation and operation according to design specifications.
  • Works closely with engineering, construction, and project management teams to execute commissioning plans and schedules.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and control systems to identify and resolve issues during the startup and commissioning phases.
  • Records and documents all test results, issues found, and corrective actions taken for quality assurance and project turnover.
  • Ensures all systems comply with safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements before handoff to operations.

What you'll need
  • Associate degree in controls-related field (Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or related technical field) or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting electrical and hardware issues and configuring automation or controls equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, with the ability to read e-drawings and AutoCAD drawings
  • Some familiarity with industrial automation and control systems
  • Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
  • Knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal and C++ or other programming language a bonus.
