Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Skipper CNC Operator to operate and maintain Skipper CNC machinery used for drilling, routing, or machining materials such as wood or MDF. The ideal candidate will have experience with Biesse Skipper CNC machines and will be responsible for producing high-quality components in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, program, and operate Skipper CNC machines to perform precise cuts, bores, and routings based on technical drawings or digital files.
Interpret blueprints, CAD files, and work orders to ensure proper specifications and tolerances are met.
Load raw materials and position them accurately for machining.
Conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
Inspect finished parts using calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to verify quality and accuracy.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards.
Record production data and report any deviations or equipment issues to supervisors.
Collaborate with the production team to meet daily output targets and deadlines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC operation preferred.
1-3 years of experience operating a Skipper CNC or similar vertical CNC machine.
Familiarity with CNC software (such as BiesseWorks or bSolid) is a strong plus.
Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with wood-based materials or in a furniture/cabinet manufacturing setting.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
