Job Description Everforth ECS is seeking a Junior Platform Operations Analyst to work in the National Capital Region covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax . Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP separates business and financial data from operational warfighting data, aiming to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. The WDP extends to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, and supports collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts. The Junior Platform Operations Analyst supports the day-to-day monitoring, backup, and operational continuity activities that sustain WDP's multi-enclave platform infrastructure across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS environments under the guidance of senior platform engineers and operations managers. This is an entry-level role offering meaningful hands-on exposure to enterprise cloud operations in a mission-critical government environment where platform reliability directly supports warfighter decision-making and AI-enabled battlefield outcomes. • Supports platform operations activities by monitoring, documenting, and analyzing enterprise performance across Department of War environments.
• Utilizes monitoring, alerting, and logging tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon CloudTrail, Grafana, and Splunk to collect operational data and generate service availability and performance reports.
• Assists with identifying Service Level Objective deviations by reviewing metric dashboards, event logs, and performance trends and by compiling data for program leadership review.
• Performs daily platform backup tasks by initiating backup jobs, validating completion records, and documenting operational status.
• Assists with data restoration requests by gathering system information, preparing recovery steps, validating restoration accuracy, and tracking completion within program repositories.
• Participates in disaster recovery and continuity of operations exercises by supporting documentation, data capture, and test execution activities.
• Maintains operational records, process checklists, and system logs to support traceability and audit readiness.
• Coordinates with platform engineers and operations managers to collect system status updates, identify operational issues, and document corrective actions.
• Supports communication of system issues, scheduled events, and operational impacts by preparing briefing inputs and reporting summaries.
• Contributes to operational reliability by executing repeatable monitoring and backup tasks, documenting system behavior, and supporting restoration activities that strengthen platform resiliency and mission continuity.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills • Current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
• 0-3 years of experience in IT operations, platform support, systems monitoring, or a closely related technical discipline, including relevant academic, internship, or lab-based experience.
• Foundational familiarity with cloud monitoring and logging tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Grafana, or Splunk, with a basic understanding of backup operations, service availability concepts, and IT operations documentation practices. Desired Skills • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
• Entry-level AWS certification such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, demonstrating foundational knowledge of AWS cloud services and core infrastructure concepts applicable to government cloud environments.
• Exposure to IT service management platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira, including basic experience logging incidents, tracking tasks, or documenting operational status within structured ticketing or repository workflows.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery and continuity of operations concepts, including recovery time objectives, backup validation procedures, and documentation practices applicable to enterprise or government platform environments.
• Basic understanding of Agile or DevSecOps delivery principles, including awareness of how platform operations activities integrate within sprint-based engineering and continuous monitoring workflows.
