Job Title: Entry-Level Aircraft and Janitorial Cleaner

Department: Operations

Reports To: Supervisor and/or Station Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Shift Availability: Overnight availability required

POSITION SUMMARY

The Aircraft and Facility Services Agent is an entry-level position responsible for performing both interior aircraft cleaning and airport facility janitorial services to support safe, compliant, and efficient airport operations. This overnight position ensures aircraft cabins, airport facilities, common areas, offices, restrooms, jet bridges, lounges, and operational workspaces are cleaned, sanitized, stocked, and maintained in accordance with company standards, airline requirements, and airport regulations.

Team members in this role are expected to maintain a high level of attention to detail, safety awareness, professionalism, and operational reliability while working in a fast-paced airport environment. Overnight availability is required for this position due to operational demands and aircraft servicing schedules. The combined responsibilities for this role are derived from the Interior Aircraft Cleaner and Building Maintenance Cleaner positions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Aircraft Cleaning Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize aircraft interiors including seats, seatback pockets, tray tables, armrests, overhead bins, windows, walls, ceilings, air vents, floor tracks, and passenger service units.
  • Remove trash and debris from aircraft cabins and properly replace onboard materials such as safety cards, sick bags, and airline publications.
  • Clean lavatories including sinks, mirrors, toilets, floors, and countertops while replenishing restroom supplies.
  • Clean aircraft galleys including counters, equipment, coffee canisters, floors, and trash containers.
  • Clean cockpit areas as authorized, including floors, seating areas, and trash removal.
  • Vacuum aircraft interiors using approved cleaning equipment.
  • Lift seat cushions to clean beneath seating areas and identify missing life vests or damaged safety equipment as directed by leadership.
  • Conduct final aircraft walkthrough inspections to ensure cleanliness and service standards are achieved.
  • Conduct security searches and immediately report and turn in all Lost and Found items in accordance with company procedures.

Facility and Janitorial Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain airport facilities including offices, break rooms, lounges, corridors, stairways, elevators, locker rooms, restrooms, jet bridges, and operational areas.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, buff, and polish floors and other surfaces.
  • Dust and wipe furniture, fixtures, equipment, walls, windows, and other surfaces.
  • Clean carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and common-use areas.
  • Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal locations.
  • Restock restroom and break room supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
  • Clean and sanitize break room appliances and employee common areas.
  • Replace light bulbs and assist with maintaining the general appearance and cleanliness of assigned workspaces.

Operational and Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety procedures, operational procedures, and security requirements at all times.
  • Review operational updates, shift communications, and assigned work instructions prior to beginning work.
  • Maintain company equipment, vehicles, storage areas, warehouse spaces, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Assist with pre-operation and post-operation inspections (POIs) of vehicles and equipment when applicable.
  • Immediately report injuries, incidents, property damage, operational concerns, or safety hazards to leadership.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner to prevent injury, equipment damage, or aircraft damage.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain proper uniform standards during all assigned shifts.
  • Demonstrate professional and respectful behavior toward coworkers, airline personnel, passengers, airport staff, and customers.
  • Comply with all company policies, TSA requirements, FAA regulations, airport security procedures, and customer-specific operational standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Entry-level position; prior experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and extended shifts as operationally required.
  • Overnight availability is required for consideration.
  • Must be capable of reading and understanding work assignments, safety procedures, and operational instructions.
  • Must secure and maintain appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges, if applicable.
  • Must successfully complete FAA criminal background checks to obtain unescorted access privileges to Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA), if applicable.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required based on operational assignment and airport authority requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and push for extended periods during assigned shifts.
  • Must be capable of working in confined spaces and tight work areas within aircraft cabins and airport facilities.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and access elevated work areas as required.
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
  • Work environments may include moderate noise levels, exposure to cleaning chemicals, and fast-paced operational conditions.
