We are seeking candidates who have good interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work productively without close supervision and the ability to follow confidentiality policies. Successful candidates must have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Training will be provided for applicants who are hired.

Department Summary
The Ohio University Eastern Campus invites applications for the position of Student IT Support Specialist. This position will work on the Eastern campus which is located in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Specific departmental duties may include:
Help Desk Support
• Answering the help desk phone, entering work orders, and resolving issues when possible
• Check out and deliver equipment
• Assisting with inventory, testing, and cleaning of computer equipment.
• Supporting campus projects as needed
OULN Classroom Operator Support
• Responsible to be sure equipment is powered, connected and functioning for class
• Distribute and collect papers, assignments, etc. before class and return to the proper department/location immediately after class
• Log any classroom technical issues and relay information to appropriate support team using the Teams application
Campus Event Support
• Setup computer, audio and AV equipment for scheduled campus events
• Operate equipment during event
• Troubleshoot any issues and resolve as necessary
• Return equipment to appropriate storage location(s) when event ends
Job Profile
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Provides technical assistance to students, staff, and faculty by troubleshooting software or hardware issues, maintaining IT systems, and offering solutions to ensure smooth technological operations across the University. Provides an entry point into the field of Information Technology for Ohio University students.
Level Summary
Performs basic tasks and assists with administrative or operational duties under supervision. Roles are entry-level and aimed at providing exposure to workplace environments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Limited supervisory responsibilities. May supervise other student workers.
Fiscal Responsibilities:
No budgetary responsibility.
Problem Solving:
Addresses routine, well-defined problems under supervision.
Independence of Action:
Works under close supervision.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicates primarily with supervisor and peers. Collaborates with team members to accomplish tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled for classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post-secondary education institution, or a secondary school during the current semester, immediate previous semester, or immediate upcoming semester. Able to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines. Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools. Departments may have specific minimum requirements.

Working Condition/Physical Demands:
This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
